Sanaullah Jan is Editor-In-Chief of Journal of Clinical & Community Ophthalmology (JCCO), his name is on Editorial Board of many peer reviewed journals including journal of Post Graduate Medical Institute, Peshawar. He has published 64 scientific research articles & editorials in various scientific journals He also contributed in publication of “Reference Atlas for Intervention in Diabetic Retinopathy” and in framing national “Guidelines for laser application in diabetic retinopathy”, a booklet “Ensuring Patient Autonomy: Informed Written Consent” and a book regarding eye diseases for commoners. He has 42 scientific presentations to his credit and has attended 125 national and international congresses/meetings.

He is (Non-Resident) Medical Director of Khano Eye Trust Hospital, a charity hospital working on “No profit no loss” charity in Lakki Marwat, Pakistan. He has organized and participated in more than 50 Free Eye Camps and he credits it to his colleagues and students. He also runs “Bibi Rabiya Free Consultation Clinic” on every thursday at his private practice, service he dedicates to his late mother.
He maintains membership of OSP, KP/Peshawar, Pakistan Vitreo-Retinal Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Oxford Ophthalmological Congress, European Society of Retina Specialists (Euro-retina), Executive Committee Pakistan Vitreo-Retinal Society, National Task Force on Diabetic Retinopathy, National committee of Retina Specialists working for Prevention of blindness due to Diabetic Retinopathy. Presently he is President Elect of Pakistan Vitreo-retina Society.
Presently he is serving as Professor of Vitreo-retinal ophthalmology at Hayatabad Medical Complex where he initiated & established vitreo-retinal services for the first time in public sector at HMC patronized by his seniors and mentor in year 2002. He has an additional assignment of being Director of Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology at HMC. He is still passionately pursuing his niche in ophthalmic care fraternity. He aims to coordinate and integrate national efforts with global initiatives for prevention of blindness. He adores transferring his clinical and surgical skills to his students and colleagues, with the objective to build up national trained human resource to combat blinding eye diseases and serve the ailing community.
