Professional Experience

Dr. Samad Wazir is Consultant Pulmonologist and Professor of the Department of Medicine at Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre, Peshawar. In his role as a Pulmonologist, he is responsible for treating complaints of the respiratory system, such as tuberculosis and asthma amongst others.

Before his appointment at NWGH in 2009, Dr. Abdul Samad Wazir worked as an Associate Professor in Chest medicine at Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar until 2002 and then in Rehman Medical Institute as a Professor of Pulmonology until 2009.

He is a member of the Pakistan Chest Society (PCS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS).

Dr. Abdul Samad Wazir did his MBBS from KMC in 1979. He then went to the UK for training and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (FRCP) and Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK). He eventually settled in Pakistan where he has since been practicing and teaching.
