Professional Experience

Prof. Dr. Obaidullah is a nationally & internationally renowned Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre, Peshawar. His department is focused on the reconstruction of any defect of the human body appearing at birth, due to trauma, cancer, cancer surgery or aging. He is known for his international experience in genital surgery, especially Hypospadias, vaginal reconstruction & rejuvenation. His areas of expertise also include cleft lip and palate repair, diabetic foot management, gender problems and various aesthetic procedures like nose job, tummy tuck, liposuction. He also has a unique expertise in chronic wound management. He is an expert burn surgeon and his treatment management is specially throughout the country.

Prof. Dr. Obaidullah holds the distinction of being the first plastic surgeon in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and was instrumental in establishing plastic surgery in the province. He is a recognized specialist in gender-related surgeries and leads a multidisciplinary team in gender reassignment. Prof. Dr. Obaidullah has been invited as a guest speaker at conferences across the globe. He has numerous publications in both national and international journals.

He serves as an examiner for postgraduate plastic surgery examinations in Pakistan and has been referenced in major textbooks. He is widely known for his exceptional work in managing hypospadias. His dedication to long-term patient care, including meticulous follow-ups, has earned him immense respect among colleagues and patients.

Prof. Dr. Obaidullah is affiliated with various professional organizations, including the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), International Society for Burn Injuries, Hypospadias Society and the International Society on Hypospadias and Disorders of Sexual Differentiation (ISHID). He is also a member of the Department of Medical Education at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (DME – CPSP).

Prof. Dr. Obaidullah graduated from Khyber Medical College in 1983 with a Gold Medal. He earned his fellowship from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) in 1989. He pursued further education abroad and earned his FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1990. His basic training was from UK but he has spent time in USA and Canada where he learned new skills. Throughout his career, he has remained active in academia as a guest speaker and examiner, both nationally and internationally. He has authored numerous publications, many of which are renowned globally.
